Whether you’re looking for a memorable date night, a family dinner, brunch with friends, or a great bourbon and cocktail experience, these are some of our favorite restaurants that we regularly recommend to guests.

Breakfast/Brunch

Con Huevos

One of the best brunch spots in Louisville with incredible breakfast tacos, burritos, pancakes, and coffee. The atmosphere feels casual, local, and consistently busy in the best way.

Tip: We always like to order the tres leches pancakes for the table to split because they are too good not to get. The breakfast tacos are also a favorite.

Please & Thank You

One of the most popular coffee shops in Louisville known for excellent coffee and arguably the city’s most famous chocolate chip cookies.

Insider Tip: The cookies are genuinely worth the hype.

Morning Fork

Morning Fork is known for its creative twists on classic breakfast favorites, generous portions, and welcoming atmosphere.

Tip: Make sure to arrive early or be prepared to wait. It’s a favorite among both locals and carrots for good reason.

Lunch

Feast BBQ

One of the best casual BBQ spots in Louisville with smoked meats, outdoor seating, and easy group-friendly food.

Tip: The bourbon slushies are especially popular during the summer.

The Eagle

Known for fried chicken, mac and cheese, and comfort food that somehow always hits after a long day exploring the city.

Tip: This is one of the safest “everyone in the group will like it” restaurants in Louisville.

Garage Bar

Great pizza, drinks, and is in a great location.

Tip: The outdoor courtyard area is one of the best casual hangout spots in Louisville during the summer.

Dinner

La Bodeguita de Mima

One of the best restaurants in Louisville for atmosphere, cocktails, and Cuban food. The outdoor patio especially feels like summer in Louisville.

Tip: This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Louisville. Everything on the menu is good, but I can not leave without ordering the Cubanchos (Cuban take on Nachos).

Repeal Steakhouse

An upscale steakhouse with a strong bourbon selection and one of the better special occasion dinner spots in the city.

Tip: Great option for Derby weekends, celebrations, or bourbon-focused dinners.

Bourbons Bistro

Part bourbon bar, part neighborhood restaurant, Bourbons Bistro is one of the best places in Louisville to experience Kentucky’s bourbon culture. With hundreds of bottles to choose from and a menu built around Southern flavors, it’s a favorite among both locals and visitors.

Tip: The bourbon flights are a great way to sample several Kentucky favorites without committing to a full pour.

Jack Fry’s

A classic Louisville restaurant with historic charm, incredible service, and one of the most iconic dining experiences in the city.

Tip: Feels like old Louisville in the best possible way.

Selena’s at Willow Lake Tavern

A relaxed local favorite with Cajun-inspired dishes, cocktails, and a great patio atmosphere close to the house.

Tip: The patio is especially nice during summer evenings.

Village Anchor

Cozy atmosphere, elevated comfort food, excellent brunch, and one of the better neighborhood restaurants near Harrods.

Tip: Feels much more like a true local neighborhood spot than a tourist restaurant. My go to order is the fish tacos.

Dessert

Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen

An absolute Louisville classic known for pies, cakes, ice cream, and comfort desserts.

Tip: The Derby Pie ice cream and upside down cupcakes are local favorites.

Louisville Cream

One of the best dessert stops after walking the Big Four Bridge or spending time in NuLu.

Tip: Great summer stop before heading back to the house for the evening.

Nord’s Bakery

A longtime Louisville bakery famous for donuts, pastries, and late-night sweet cravings.

Tip: Their donuts sell out early on weekends.
