The neighborhood has a much more local and laid-back feel compared to downtown and is perfect for groups wanting good food, drinks, and places to walk around between stops.

Tip: Start with dinner at Jack Fry’s for a classic Louisville experience or Seviche for upscale Latin-inspired food, then grab drinks at Epiphany or Holy Grale. This area feels the most “local Louisville” to many visitors and is especially good for groups wanting a less touristy evening.

Take a Riverboat Cruise

Tip: The Belle of Louisville is the most iconic option and evening cruises are by far the best experience during the summer once temperatures cool down.

One of the most popular distilleries downtown and a great introduction to Louisville bourbon culture. The modern tasting room and guided tours make this a favorite stop for both first-time bourbon visitors and experienced bourbon fans.

Tip: Reservations book up quickly on summer weekends, so plan ahead. Pair the tour with dinner nearby at Repeal Steakhouse or drinks at Trouble Bar afterward.

Try a Louisville Food Tour
